What to expect on your first visit

At Bible Baptist Church we welcome new people!  Our desire is that you would feel at home the moment you enter our beautiful 8 acre property.

Visiting any church for the very first time can be a tough experience.  Where to go?  What to wear? What time to show up?  What’s here for my kids?  What can I expect?  These and many more questions surface.

Well, we want to put you at ease. Your first visit to Bible Baptist will be refreshing, friendly, and enjoyable for your whole family.  We want you to experience inspiring music, helpful teaching and preaching, friendly people, and a place where you feel welcome and “at home”!  Here are a few answers to your questions and what you might expect on your first visit.

 1. Finding the church.

We are located in the Tampa Bay area at 6628 Cecelia Drive in New Port Richey, FL not far from where US 19 and SR 54 intersect.

 2. What should I expect in the Sunday Service?

Bible Baptist Church is a friendly and diverse family of believers. We love the Lord and we love people. As you enter our property, you will be met with a smile.

The Sunday service begins promptly at 10:45 am.  In our services we sing the great songs of the faith from hymnals and enjoy beautiful music from our choir and musical groups. Our “worship style” would be considered traditional. The center-point of our service is the preaching of the Word of God by Pastor Stidham. The Gospel of Jesus Christ and the doctrines of God’s Word are preached in the power of the Spirit of God.

The sermon will conclude with an “Invitation”, in which Pastor Stidham will give people an opportunity to come forward for a few moments of prayer or spiritual direction. If you would like to become a Christian, make a spiritual decision, or become a member of the church, this is the perfect opportunity! Simply step from your seat into the aisle and make your way to the front, where you will be greeted by Pastor Stidham.

3. What’s here for my kids on Sundays?

At every church service there is a safe, clean, and highly staffed nursery for children 3 years old and under.

For children three years old through 12th grade there are fun, friendly, Bible-centered classes. These Sunday School classes meet at 9:45 am are staffed with trained, friendly, and well-qualified teachers who will make church exciting and memorable for your child.  Students seventh grade and up attend our Teen Bible study class at 9:45 am and then attend the main service at 10:45 am with their parents. Teens also enjoy various activities such as Youth Rallies.

Our Beginner Church ministry meets every Sunday at 10:45 am following our Sunday School ministry at  9:45 am.   Children from age 3 through Kindergarten learn Bible stories, Bible memory verses, sing songs, and have a craft time.

Primary Church and Junior Church are for students grades 1-6 and are held during our Sunday morning service as they are taught the timeless truths of God’s Word at their age level.

Our annual Vacation Bible School is held in June as we meet Mon – Fri from 6:30-8:30 pm.  From preschool through grade 12, we teach Bible lessons, create arts and crafts, and sing songs each day that center around the Lord Jesus Christ.  Registration for VBS is always free and is open to everyone.

4.    What’s on the schedule for adults, and what should I expect?

Our Auditorium Class offers an Adult Bible Study class for men and ladies that meets each Sunday at 9:45 am in our main church auditorium.  This class is a great opportunity where you are invited to meet people and hear a practical Bible lesson.

Our Foundations Class is a 12 week Bible Study on the core beliefs of Christianity designed for new believers or those who have never taken a class like this. You’re welcome to attend this class any Sunday at 9:45 am in our Fellowship Hall.

A great way to get to know people at Bible Baptist Church is to visit our adult Bible classes.   All the adults then come together for the Sunday service at 10:45 am where we enjoy the beautiful and inspiring music of the choir, ensembles, and soloists.  The music is always followed by a clear, helpful, and challenging Bible message from Pastor Stidham.

5. How should I dress?

Our ministry leaders and many of our church family dress in more traditional “Sunday” dress; however, our main goal is that you would feel welcome on your visit here at Bible Baptist.  You will find a warm, welcoming people who won’t judge you, but rather rejoice that you are in church as our honored guest.

6. Am I expected to participate in the offering?

No. We don’t invite you to Bible Baptist Church for your offering. We want our service to be a gift to you. We hope you will find in this place a warm family spirit, truth from God’s Word, and a place where you can grow in God’s grace. Please don’t feel any obligation to participate in the offering as a guest.

Whether you’re new to the area and looking for a church home, or if it’s been a long time since you’ve attended church at all, we’re confident that your first visit at Bible Baptist will be refreshing! We exist to serve you and your family, and we are looking forward to meeting you personally. We hope you’ll feel right at home from the very first moment you step onto property! Let us know how we can serve you better, and we hope to meet you this Sunday!

If you have any more questions, please feel free to contact the church office at (727) 848-7778 or submit our online contact form and we’ll be glad to help.
